Got an ATI Radeon HD 2400 or 2600 video card? Thanks to a quality assurance cock-up, the BIOS on thousands of models is bad, including batches from Asustek, MSI and Gigabyte.
AMD validation software missed the defectives, but only a few have been sold to end users. Many sites are reporting there are recalls, but the original source, DigiTimes, doesn't say any such thing (In fact, it has an accompanying story titled "AMD reiterates no recall needed"). If you have such a card, check your manufacturer's site for a recall notice, or, more conveniently, a BIOS update.
