By now, you've likely heard that someone at EA apparently altered the company's Wikipedia page, removing all references to company founder Trip Hawkins and putting a springtime-fresh spin on events like the class-action lawsuit inspired by EA Spouse. EA has finally piped up and commented on the situation, telling GamesIndustry:

EA sometimes updates websites with info about the company, games and employees. For example, EA has sent a correction to Yahoo Finance when they had misspelled the name of an EA executive.

Like, for example, where Wikipedia had "Trip Hawkins," a dilligent EA staffer corrected it to say " ".

The EA spokesperson didn't specifically address the Wikipedia incident, but did go on to say that "Many companies routinely post updates on websites like Wikipedia to ensure accuracy of their own corporate information."
