USA Today didn't think very much of the PS3 version of Madden, calling it "sluggish" in comparison to the 360 version, which it described as "fast," "fluid," and, to be perfectly blunt about it, "better."

EA has stepped up to defend its product, pointing to their relative lack of development experience on the PS3:

The differences in the overall knowledge of the hardware is vastly different for both consoles and, as is the case with newer technology, it is very difficult to get it right the first time.

In other words, it sucks, they know it, they'll do better next time.
