The HTC Advantage, the strange—and strangely compelling—phone/UMPC/PDA thingy we just got our greasy hands on, is available at CompUSA for $900, and at Amazon, for $850.
Specwise, it's a high-end smartphone allied to a magnetically-attached keyboard. It has quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA, built-in GPS, a 5-inch touchscreen, 8GB hard drive, Bluetooth, Wifi and a 3 megapixel camera. Billed in Europe as the HTC Ameo, the U.S. edition gets an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.
It's sold unlocked, according to Mobile Magazine, and won't be subsidized as expected by T-Mobile. Gadget Lab will have a review in the coming days.
