NEC's L-Series LaVie laptops weill come in a range of subdued pastel colors, as is the fashion these days—a welcome advance from the age of greydom, even if most of the hues look like something you'd select for a kids' bedroom wall. Google, translating the Japanese, offers sugar pink, leaf green, very blue, garnet, white and "gross black." I think the latter may represent a mistranslation artifact, but NEC should keep it if they bring these Stateside.

The colorific LL550KG model sports the full range of color options, but only offers sempron-class CPUs to go with its 15.4" display, gig of RAM and ExpressCard slot. The higher-end LL590KG model offers a Turion CPU and a TV tuner card.
