Objection! She's Playing Air Guitar Now!

A British court has decided not to pursue contempt charges against a Muslim juror accused of hiding headphones under her hijab so she could listen to MP3s while court was in session. The judge was quite sure Ruhela Khanom was not paying full attention to testimony presnted during the murder trial, but prosecutors decided there wasn't enough evidence to charge her. Says Khanom:

What the judge...did not see is that my MP3 was disconnected from the headphone and put it in my bag. The truth is because I have to take my head scarf off every time to plug and unplug the ear phones from my head therefore I simply disconnected my MP3 from my head phone. That is it.

Point of jurisprudence: Say she had been listening to Nick Cave's "Murder Ballads." Would that be considered research?
