Samsung's camera division has been busy cooking up new models for the point-and-shoot crowd, including three new models in the NV line of high-style black shooters with touch-sensitive controls and 3x zoom lenses. (And Samsung's bogus "Advanced Shake Reduction," which simply bumps up ISO to noisy levels instead of actually stabilizing the image.)
Main differences between the models are resolution. The NV20 packs in
12 megapixels and sells for $400. The NV15 is a 10-megapixel model priced at $300. The NV8 bumps
resolution down to 8 megapixels, price TBA. All should be on store shelves this fall.
On the slim-and-silver side of the market, the new i85 is an 8-megapixel shooter with 5x zoom, a 3-inch LCD screen and a whopping 450MB of internal memory, part of which can be used to store downloadable travel guides covering 2,600 chunks of the globe. It'll sell for $350
when it arrives this fall.
