In Eye of Judgment, the Eye Toy is used to summon monsters from cards it scans. It can also track the movement of those cards (like how far away it is from the camera, or how it's oriented) to maintain an appropriate position on the card for the summoned monster. When comparing that kind of motion sensing to the Wii Remote, Miyaki said:

In Eye of Judgment it's all about summoning the creatures. With other games it'll be about creating a whole different dynamic so, in a way, you could say there is much more potential and ability in our technology.

I must admit, I'm extremely curious about Eye of Judgment. It may end up being nothing more than a well-executed gimmick, but its premise is inventive enough to make me want to find out more.
