Dredging up another mascot from the vaults entertainment history, Compendia and MGM will be previewing a series of educational games starring the Pink Panther at the Games Convention in Leipzig. What's next, the Banana Splits?
Before helping Owens Corning sell home insulation (that fluffy pink stuff in the ceiling that you're not supposed to play with, despite its resemblance to cotton candy), the Pink Panther appeared in the opening and closing credits of the Pink Panther movies, and later starred in a cartoon series that ran throughout the 70s. (Let's forget the Steve Martin movie ever happened, shall we? Ok.)
Not exactly the most current of cultural icons, I think you'll agree, but he's certainly cute enough. The educational games in which he'll be featured cover an interesting range of topics, too, including the environment, preservation, and astronomy.
