We've gotten used to Apple's slightly misleading launch promises. When Steve Jobs says "Available in September", he means "Available on the last frickin' day of September."
Take a look at the release-date-sieve that is Amazon for the confirmation: "This item will be released on September 30, 2007".
By this reasoning, we'll confidently say that OS X Leopard, due in October, will be in the stores on Hallowe'en.
