
After announcing that he would be leaving his position as senior director of corporate communications for Sony, Dave Karraker took some time to reflect on the events of the past year.
In an interview with Next-Gen, Karraker explains that when he joined Sony's PR team, the competition "was driving our message for us," so he made it his goal to "take back our own messaging and really work directly with the consumers to get them to understand what these platforms are about." You'll have to decide for yourself whether or not he achieved that particular goal.
Karraker also discussed the "blackball" incident with Kotaku ("my buddies," as he calls them) and whether or not game journalists are too chummy with PR folks:
