Apple has hit the magic million mark with iPhone sales. That's an average of around 14,000 units a day. Steve Jobs:
Time for a few calculations. The 8GB model is the success story here, but we'll be conservative and say that the 8GB iPhone outsold its little brother by 2:1. Which gives us:
4GB – 250,000 x $500 = $125,000,000
8GB – 750,000 x $600 = $450,000,000
A grand total of $575 million, around $7.7 million a day. Not bad going. At that rate, it pays almost as well as blogging. And that doesn't count the kickbacks Apple receives from AT&T subscription fees, thought to be 10% of revenue.
Congratulations, Apple.
