Sony is filling the hole left by Dave Karraker's departure with industry veteran Scott Steinberg, who will be leaving his current position as Sega's VP of marketing. Steinberg will step into the newly-created position of Vice President, Product Marketing, SCEA starting October 1st.
Steinberg has more than 20 years' experience in the marketing arena, having worked for companies like Roxio/Napster, Liquid Audio, Eidos Interactive, and Crystal Dynamics. At Sega he was responsible for all of the company's consumer brand and digital commerce efforts in North America. Sega has certainly taken its fair share of criticism in recent years, so Steinberg should be well-prepared for his fight with the anti-PS3 crowd.
