Add Typepad to the list of iPhone optimized sites. A newly unveiled URL, , reduces the essence of the Typepad experience to fit the iPhone's diminutive screen.
Yes, mobile blogging is a little easier for iPhone fans — once you get past the awkward keypad part.
To use Typepad from your iPhone, just head to the URL above and login. You'll then see a menu with options to create a new post, manage comments, manage posts and change your mobile settings. Selecting a new post will pop up a window to select the blog to post to (if you have more than one attached to your Typepad account) and then you'll see the usual Typepad interface for creating entries.
Other options include the ability to edit posts, manage and delete comments and even set up your account for posting photos directly from your iPhone. Naturally you can also head over to see your site once you're done posting.
Typepad already offers a mobile client for Palm OS, Windows Mobile, and Symbian phones, so the iPhone support isn't a big surprise, but the interface is well done and, for the most part, far better than the one you see in a traditional browser.
And just for the record, I created this post from my iPhone and quickly jumped over to a real keyboard to actually write it.

Update: You'd think someone who uses Typepad on a daily basis would know that it's made by Six Apart, not Movable Type, which is actually another Six Apart product. Call it late afternoon stupidity. Anyway, the title has been corrected.
