Taito's latest arcade game adopts Surface-like touchscreen table tech to create a fantasy card game based on a Square Enix fantasy milieu. Titled "The Wheel of Eternity," it detects cards placed atop the LCD tabletop and integrates them into the game.
To the left of the display is a "joy slider," purpose indeterminate, next to an "ability button." To the player's right is an "elemental" button.
It's a fantastic idea, and while details aren't offered, this could take card gaming to a new level of obsessive complexity. Think RFID- or barcode-verified decks combined with high-end gaming graphics! It's enough to wilt an anime hairdo.
