Sony's new VAIO UX stuffs a faster Core 2 Solo CPU and 64GB flash drive into a handheld frame, keeping the line's specs a rung above the smaller and sweeter OQO model 2, which itself got an SSD upgrade not two weeks ago. Those preferring the cheaper, battery-sapping hard drive version get an extra 10GB over the older' model's 30GB standard stash.

The rest stays the same: a 1,024×600 resolution, 4.5" LCD display powered by an Intel 945GMS Express GPU, 1GB RAM, a single USB port, memory stick duo and CF card slots, WiFi a/b/g, Bluetooth 2 and dual cameras.

It'll be available from October 3 in Japan, but a fair bet for the holiday season here as well.
