Electroencephalography (EEG) is a method for monitoring brainwaves, traditionally assiociated with big, immobile medical machinery. IMEC has developed a wireless head-mounted EEG strap powered by the wearer's own forehead heat.
The system, which it sternly reminds everyone is proprietary, operates "completely autonomously and maintenance-free" and doesn't need batteries. A mere 0.8mW is all the current it requires to both read brains and send the data to a PC via 2.4Ghz.
