Banksy, the street artist whose work sells for over half a million dollars, will see some of his work disappear as the London borough of Tower Hamlets paints over his illegal public works. A statement from the borough council said:
According to the BBC, "the future of a Banksy piece painted on a wall in Bristol recently went to public vote, with 97% of people saying it should be kept."
You'll notice in the above image of one of Banksy's work in said borough, someone added a "commissioned by Tower Hamlets Council" logo on the right. Photo via Flickr.
