How many of you will be buying a new video card for Christmas? Do your part to undome PC gaming, helped along by Tom's Hardware's roundup of current-generation pixel-pushers.

The short version: if you're spending under $100, get a Radeon HD 2600 XT; if you can stretch to $250, get an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT: it's not out yet, but it's going to be the big hit of the season, matching the performance of the more-expensive 8800 GTS model at a much lower price.

If you're spending up to $350, get the 8800 GT anyway, because you're just wasting your money, even if you go for the higher-end GTX model. And if you're spending over $600, get a life. Zing! Actually, get an 8800 Ultra, the only thing going that significantly outpaces the GT.
