Senators Hillary Clinton and Joe Lieberman, along with Evan Bayh and Sam Brownback, have sent a letter to Entertainment Software Ratings Board president Patricia Vance calling for reform of the board's game ratings policies. Reads the letter:
We can glean some important things from the above.
- Wii really is reaching the mainstream consumer.
- The senators agree with us about closing up "videogame."
I agree that the current ratings system and all its consequences needs to be seriously re-evaluated, but not in the sense that Clinton et al apparently do, which is that Manhunt 2 never should have been released.
