Hans Reiser Fought With Wife Over Violent Video Games

Hans Reiser's arguments with his estranged wife Nina were in great part about whether their 8-year-old son could play violent video games, said a divorce attorney in her court testimony yesterday.

Threat Level has been providing constant coverage of the trial, in which Linux developer Reiser stands accused of the murder of his wife. Yesterday, the subject of violent games came up when Nina's divorce attorney said that it was a "huge bone of contention":

Gordon, the attorney who was the trial's third witness, told jurors that Hans and Nina disputed ... on choosing an evaluator to examine their children's mental state. Gordon said Hans wanted an evaluator "who didn't have a bias against video games, violent video games."
