Hey Mr Parliamentarian, Did You Stuff That Dead Woman Into That Sack?

(((It's sure been a tough week for Indian press-government relations. "Hey, are you gentlemen a bunch of pogrom bandit rapist murderers? Look into the camera please.")))

"Bihar notorious for its criminal turned politicians repeated brush with the law is again in the news. JD (U) MLA beat up a television reporter. The legislator and his four supporters were arrested. The RJD has called a bandh in the state on Friday

" IN LAWLESS Bihar police have arrested JD (U) MLA Anant Singh along with four of his supporters for assaulting and holding captive Prakash Singh a NDTV reporter in Patna.

"The channel’s team had gone to the MLA residence to ask for his reactions to allegations that he had raped and murdered a woman whose body was found in a sack. The opposition RJD has called for a Bihar bandh tomorrow.

(((Weirdly, no one seems to know the identity of the dead woman in the sack.)))

"The MLA pounced on the reporter and cameraperson. He snatched the broadcast van keys and smashed the camera. His personal bodyguard and an official guard joined in to beat up the team. A cameraperson of the news agency ANI was also beaten up. Rifle butts and lathis were used to assault the journalists.

(((I hate to say that this is indicative of a bad conscience – maybe they were the kind of journalists who really require rifle butts.)))

"The MLA has been produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

'The reporter was held captive for two hours at Singh’s house and was freed by the police. The cameraperson Habib Ali, who managed to flee, was admitted to the Patna Medical College Hospital after he complained of chest pain.

"The Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered a CBI probe into the alleged rape and murder of the woman whose body was found in a sack. The body has not been identified yet.

" Railway Minister and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav condemned the assault saying stringent action should be taken against Anant Singh.

The MLA and the security guards were joined by a group of 25 supporters who attacked the journalists snatched their camera, mobile phones and watches.

(((Stealing the watches is a nice detail there.)))

(((In the meantime, besides catching videos of murderous Parliamentarians, another videocam captures the three-hour antics of a UFO sighted over
Kolkata. Three HOURS? Maybe the UFO abducted the dead woman in the sack.)))

"A WHITE dazzling fireball streaked across the dark sky over Kolkata in the wee hours of Tuesday, dancing as it were, emanating myriad colours, and leaving many Kolkatans who saw it, agape. It hung in the skies for roughly three hours, allowing an intrepid photographer to take video clips spanning the entire period of time. The Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) was shown on a regional TV channel.

"The clip filmed on a handy cam, taken by Farhan Akhtar, a senior executive of a private company, was shown to the MP Birla Planetarium director D P Duari who said the flying object, seen “at 30 degrees on the eastern horizon” was “interesting and strange”. He appeared on TV along with Akhtar who narrated what he saw.

The fireball, on which the handy cam zoomed into, appeared to be circular. It was now white, now green, now purple – now red. It moved from east to west changing its shape rapidly from a circle to a triangle and then a straight line. On the video clip, at one stage it distinctly looked like a flying saucer – a circular disc with studs on it.

Quite a few others spotted the strange object in the eastern sky and hundreds gathered along Eastern Metropolitan Bypass craning their necks to look at extraterrestrial object sending them into a tizzy.

Akhtar had got up at the ungodly hour to close a window and pull the drapes after his wife started feeling cold. He first thought it was an airplane and then thought it was a star. Deciding to take a closer look he reached for his handy cam and zoomed in and tracked it for three hours on a tripod because his hands were shaking. The object was visible even after daylight broke. It disappeared at around 6.30 a.m.

“No natural phenomenon is likely to last for such a long duration and it is not a meteor either. It is an extremely interesting and strange object,” Duari told the TV channel.

(((Would everyone stop chuckling at Dennis Kucinich now, please. It's not all that hard to spot something in the sky that's "unidentified." The tough part is the subversive act of stating the blatantly obvious in a regime based on the methodical denial of reality.)))
