Several of the Republican presidential candidates' online teams live-blogged the CNN-YouTube debate this evening.
Taken together, it was very interesting look at how the various campaigns have begun to spin their candidates' performances in real-time on the Web.
- Rudy Giuliani's team posted a television ad on its Web site and didn't bother with live-blogging
- Mitt Romney's team posted selected blog and news reviews of his performance.
- John McCain's team live-blogged the entire event, with Becki Donatelli contributing. The team also had former Louisiana Governor Buddy Roemer praise McCain's performance in an online video clip.
- Mike Huckabee's campaign live-blogged the entire event, and logged all the praise for his performance at the debate. There was also a reality-television moment with a bunch of journos and Republican Web consultant David All crowded around Chuck Norris, who recently helped to propel Huckabee to the top of the viral video charts, beating out model Heidi Klum shaking her boobs in a Victoria Secret ad. Democrat Zephyr Teachout recently praised Huckbee's online campaign as one of the most effective.
- Fred Thompson's team live-blogged the event, and had the infamous former Virginia Governor and senator George Allen comment throughout it all.
- Ron Paul's campaign had the eventcovered with a blog, live online television, and a supporter-created ad that was aired on CNN.
