
Ignition Entertainment's Ajay Chadha,thinks that Japanese developers are scared to take risks with new IP, pointing to a slew of upcoming sequels like Devil May Cry 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 as proof.
Chadha does recognize that short development cycles and budgets in the $10-$15 million range aren't exactly conducive to going out on a limb. He also points to No More Heroes as a Japanese title that takes risks, though he's not sure if it will inspire other developers to follow suit.
