After yesterday’s tough-as-boots Fire-Safe Waterproof Hard Drive comes the Pocketable HDD from I-O Data. The somewhat misleadingly named device (it’s a 16GB flash drive, not an HDD) can survive shocks and submersion in up to a meter of water.
The neatest part, though, is the connector. See the rubberized rim in the picture? That’s the wraparound USB cable. According to Jesus Diaz over at the Giz, this goes for $240 in Japan.
