Among Firefox 3's new features is a greatly enhanced URL toolbar, which now searches page titles as well as addresses in both your browsing history and bookmarks. But you needn't jump to the betas to supercharge your URL bar, just grab the Autocomplete Manager add-on for Firefox 2.

Autocomplete Manager already has many of the features coming in Firefox 3 and adds a number of others to the mix. Once Autocomplete Manager is installed, head into the preferences where you'll find options to control how searches are sorted, which pages are included and more.

Some of the highlights include the ability to include bookmarked pages in your search, the ability to sort bookmarked pages above history pages, keyboard shortcuts to change sort criteria on the fly and options to exclude locally hosted pages and search engine results pages.

As an added bonus there's a history browser pane which offers the ability to delete individual pages from your browsing history.

On the downside Autocomplete manager doesn't currently work with the Firefox 3 beta, though the author says he's hoping to get an update out eventually.
