MySpace deployed a new music program Tuesday called MySpace Transmissions. It's a platform for recording artists to create and distribute (read: sell) new content.
Here's a quick run-down of the site's highlights: an awkward, empty interface; unlabeled, useless knobs and faders; sections stamped with a colorful "Coming Soon!" label.
In other words, the site looks like a beta version of itself -- as in, not quite finished. Which is a shame because the idea of an online stage where musicians can offer fans (for a fee) remixes, fresh tunes and vids of their choosing is almost like an internet version of MTV Unplugged, as *The New Yorks Times *notes. Which could be pretty sweet.
MySpace could not be reached for comment, but we're wondering what (and when) additional features will be fixed added. Where's Big Daddy Murdoch's coin purse when you need it?
