The Japanese love robots. This is the third law of life, after death and taxes. But the all-amateur Robo-One grand Championship, which just took place in Tokyo, shows the influence of video games on the Otaku culture.
Homebrew walking robots are cool enough, but these one-on-one death matches feature leg sweeps, taunts and special moves: Check the bubble-headed ‘bot. It looks like it’s bonce will be burst by it’s clawed opponent, but there’s a special surprise in store. I guarantee you will smile.
