To further persuade you that a paid Gold account is the way to go for Xbox Live, those of you with Silver memberships will now have to wait for free content.
As of yesterday's Dashboard Update, Silver accounts will be locked out of downloading free content for the first week or so of its release. Items that are unavailable will have a red "uh uh" icon next to them to indicate their unobtainable status.
Try to download such an item and you'll receive a gentle reminder that membership, at least Gold membership, has its privileges.
