Savvy web users probably already know most of the hidden tricks to getting the most out of your Google searches, but even those of us who search Google for a living don't always know everything.
Lifehacker has gathered up ten relatively obscure ways to use Google including a couple I wasn't aware of like the syntax for getting unit conversions. It turns out that typing things like 250ml in cups gets you a nice quick conversion — handy for recipes or converting currency in a hurry.
Other tips include using the advanced search operators like inurl which we've covered before or how to use Google as a free proxy server.
My favorite Google search trick I wasn't aware of actually comes from a commenter who notes that package tracking numbers entered into Google return a quick link to the actual tracking page which is generally faster than going to the shipper's homepage and wading through a bunch of forms — handy for seeing when that Asus Eee PC 8G will arrive.
Lifehacker has a number of other tricks and tips that you may not be aware of, so give the article a read and learn the ways of the Google ninja.
