–Internet Cafe Raid Prompt Others to Purge Pirated Content from Servers
(January 17, 2008)
On December 18, 2007, the Australian Federal Police raided an Internet cafe in Sydney for allegedly providing its customers with inexpensive access to pirated music and movies. The raided cafe reopened a day later. Other Internet cafes in the Sydney central business district have removed similar content from their servers in the wake of the raid.
The cafes had been using the lure of inexpensive music and movies to attract customers.
