
YouTube user MRirian films herself staring at the camera. And that's it. She rarely speaks, often looking as though she's about to laugh before signing off with a quickly flashed peace sign.
And though just a quick skim through her video comments is proof enough that no one knows just what to make of her, it's obvious YouTubers can't get enough. Her most recently posted video (screenshot left) raked in more than 600,000 views in five days.
Tech/design blog Kottke points to the resounding meme blooming online in response to her googly eyed vignettes – a wave of response videos that duplicate her trademark expression or speculate about her particular brand of self-expression.
