Mayor of San Francisco in Literal Free-Fall

Link: Epicenter - Wired Blogs.

"An eagle-eyed reader tipped us off to this San Jose Mercury News photo of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and his fiance enjoying a $3,500 Zero Gravity commercial flight. The flight was paid for by an "unidentified private client," according to the Merc. We have no idea who the generous client could be, but we're pretty sure it has nothing to do with the billionaire (Google co-founder Sergey Brin) floating in the corner of the photo."

(((Although I read Epicenter frequently, I rarely link to it. Yet I have to point out something crucial here – this is the Mayor of San Francisco, *and his quote unquote fiancee,* living it up in free-fall thanks to some private unidentified pal zillionaire who probably isn't noted Russian emigre Sergey Brin.

(((Meanwhile, just because you're Sarkozy and Carla Bruni (yes, dear reader, you knew that was coming) and you're zipping off for a romantic right-wing rendezvous near the Pyramids courtesy of some zillionaire pal of yours with a private jet, you get all kinds of bluenosed grief out of the stuffy French tabloids.)))

(((To me this conclusively proves the innate superiority of "San Francisco
Values" over "Elysee values." I could be wrong here – a cheap parabolic flight isn't the Pyramids – but click that link up there and just look at that ecstatic, Summer of Love expression on their faces. Dang.)))
