There, I said it. You don't need to watch the movie now. Thanks to WonderCon, I have saved Underwire readers 10 bucks and a little time.

The real reason to come to the preview screening, as the mediator was well aware, was because of the panelists. Rachael Taylor won the hearts of many in last summer's Transformers, and was surprisingly perceptive about some aspects of working in Japan for the film: "Japan made me feel small," she said. "I could have no impact on that world.... It was difficult to get at the real meaning of most interactions." Probably impeding that meaning was the fact that even Shutter's director spoke very little English.

*For the horrible secret, go to the jump.

The other panelist was James Kyson Lee, of Wired favorite Heroes.
Lee refused – perhaps wisely – to reveal too much detail about the TV show's upcoming season, which will resume what was interrupted by the writer's strike.
However, he did say that they were following up on a few things that he was really excited about, and the theme was "villains."

Under the circumstances, it is probably best that fellow panelist
Joshua Jackson couldn't make it (he's shooting for the new J.J. Abrams project, Fringe). Seeing Taylor and Lee redeemed the preview for most of the nerds in the audience, but it's hard to imagine anyone getting too excited about seeing Pacey.

* The horrible secret? In the original, the Thai Jane discovers that the ghost is Thai Ben's ex-girlfriend, a girl that Ben allowed his friends to rape and consequently committed suicide. Your guess as to what happens in the remake is as good as mine, but I'm pretty sure ... who am I kidding? It's probably the exact same thing.
