How to Tell If Your Neighbor is A (Suspected) Half-Billion Dollar Cyber-Bank Fraudster

(((He doesn't trim the hedges around his big lordly mansion and you don't see him around in town much.)))

(((It would appear that "Lord Rodley" and his accomplices attempted to steal the money through the dirt-simple tactic of disguising confederates as cleaning staff and installing keystroke-loggers on the bank's computers. And that was four years ago. No arrests till quite recently. One has to wonder.)))

(((May I point out that "Rodley" and his three alleged co-conspirators have not been proven guilty of anything yet; far be it from me to run 'em out of town on a rail; I have only the mildest, most novelistic, artsy interest in guys with the cojones to (allegedly) steal half a billion while disguised as janitors.)))

A Tewkesbury lord has been accused of trying to steal £220 million by hacking into a bank's computer system.

Lord Hugh Rodley is accused of targeting the London offices of the Sumitomo Matsui Banking Corporation.

His fellow accused are David Nash, 47, Bernard Davies, 73, and Kevin O'Donoghue, 33.

They appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday but Rodley failed to do so after he was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital with a suspected heart attack. All four are yet to enter pleas.

Police from the National High Tech Crime Unit have been investigating the case since October 2004.

The alleged plan to transfer vast amounts of cash electronically from the Japanese bank to 10 accounts around the world is said to have been uncovered before any money was moved. Judge Martyn Zeidman QC adjourned the case until May 30 to fix the date of the trial.

Rodley, 60, is charged with conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy to steal, conspiracy to transfer criminal property and conspiracy to remove criminal property from England and Wales, between January 1 and October 5 2004.

In November 2006, neighbours wondered what was going on when police were spotted at the mansion.

Officers patrolling the house, near the 6ft gates at the front of the property, said they were unable to say why they were there.

Gloucestershire police would only say that they were helping the Serious and Organised Crime Agency with an on-going fraud investigation at the home of Lord and Lady Rodley, who have lived at Tudor Manor, in Church End, near Tewkesbury, for 16 years.

It is understood Lord Rodley is from Ireland and that his original name is Brian McGough. (((That's an interesting development.)))

As Lord Rodley, Mr McGough made the news in 2002 after losing a case at Cheltenham County Court.

Tewkesbury ironmongers Haywards won a claim for £500 against him after he failed to pay his bill for repairs to his lawnmower. (((Needed half a billion to pay those lawnmower bills.)))

In recent years, he has been in dispute with next door neighbours Brian and Kay Singleton, who say his leylandii hedge is too high at almost 5m and is blocking out sunlight. The row goes back 15 years.

In July 2006, Tewkesbury Borough Council ordered him to cut the hedge back. But Mr Singleton appealed against its ruling because he said it didn't go far enough.

In April last year, the Planning Inspectorate backed his view that the hedge should be scaled back further.

Residents say Rodley is something of a recluse who has not been involved in village life....

(((Unless there's more than one "Lord Hugh Rodley" involved in offshore banking, I rather imagine this company is one of his. Can't prove that. I'd like to know.
This site doesn't appear to have been updated since 2006.)))

(((The *rhetoric* certainly sounds remarkable.)))

We certainly DO have a mission and one that we are sure will interest you. (((And how!))) Our mission is to reveal the real truths to those from all backgrounds of life. We strive to show them how to break free from the shackles of social and economic slavery inherent in a system that is deliberately manipulating its people into a straitjacket of mediocrity and often poverty, by robbing them of their individual freedoms, privacy, rights and wealth. (((Hmmm. Kind of a Robin Hood "Lord Locksley" thing happening here, apparently.)))

Our mission is to give access to services that most have no knowledge of, but when accessed and appreciated to the full, can profoundly change lives for the better. We strive to facilitate the process of being privy to a very high level of secret and guarded information, wealth building strategies and opportunities that are accessed through membership. Bankers and Governments, jealously guard all this information, and the processes, for their own selfish benefit. We show how to step into the Offshore Arena with success and reclaim freedom, rights, privacy and prosperity. In line with this we give access to a simple turnkey business opportunity, which has incredible potential for enormous earnings in multiple ways through free-enterprise business....
