Following up on The Typing of the Dead, itself a spinoff of the popular The House of the Dead series of light gun survival horror, Sega has announced the upcoming English of the Dead.
Where The Typing of the Dead was all about typing in words in time to defeat the on-screen enemies, the new game, to be released on the Nintendo DS platform, will allow Japanese players to practice their English by writing in words blurted out by zombies coming in for the kill.
With much of the the success enjoyed by the Nintendo DS resting on the growing "training" game segment, especially in Japan, it's probably not a bad idea for game. Killing zombies sure sounds more fun that sitting in a classroom and taking notes! The game is set to be released May 29th.
