Vivitar's new hi-def pocket camcorder, the 565HD, looks very familiar (it's the one on the right, in case you're having trouble). It's definitely a budget model, with few fancy features to get in the way. The 720p camera records straight to h.264 at 30 frames per second and stores movies on an SD card. Playback is via a nice big 3" LCD screen or through the supplied HDMI cable.
The only other information we have is possibly the most important in this low-end range of the market: color. The camera will come in black or silver. If it is cheap and good, this pocket-sized HD cam could be a winner. Just don't try to make any phone calls with it.
