French first lady's new album out in July

PARIS (AFP) — French first lady Carla Bruni releases a third pop album in July featuring 14 songs, most of which were written before she met President Nicolas Sarkozy, her agent said Monday.

The yet untitled album includes a vintage Bob Dylan tune, an Italian song and a piece based on a poem by French author Michel Houellebecq, said Bruni's agent Bertrand de Labbey.

Among the brow-raising titles on the album are "My junk" about drugs and "Love Song", but De Labbey said they were both written more than two years ago.

Bruni, 40, composed the music and wrote the lyrics to most of the songs on the album that is due out in France, Britain, Germany and in her native Italy on July 21.

"Ninety-five percent of the songs on the album were written before she met the president," De Labbey told AFP.

"The voice tracks are done but the album still needs some sound mixing. It's just a matter of perfecting it but, as she is a perfectionist, it will take time," he added.
Bruni, a former supermodel who veered into music in her mid-thirties, married Sarkozy in February after a three-month romance and has said she will be his wife "until death."

(((Try to imagine "President Obama" getting dumped by the missus for another man, and then, in a flurry of drama, marrying J-Lo.)))

(((In other and, if anything, increasingly surreal news, Carla
Sarkozy's biological grandfather – the father of her father – just got married at the age of 88. So there may be quite some haul "until death,"
like, an entire half-century.)))

Turin-APA. The grandfather of French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy remarried Monday at the age of 88, APA reports quoting local officials and Italy’s domestic ANSA news agency.

Giorgio Remmert, a widower, tied the knot with Carla Silvestri, an Italian aged 67, in the town of Caselle Torinese, northwest of the northern city of Turin. (((I was in that town today. Although, as it so happens, I'm now in Denver. Go figure.)))

His son Maurizio Remmert, a businessman in Brazil, is the biological father of Bruni-Sarkozy, 40, whose mother Marisa Borini is the wife of Italian tyre tycoon Alberto Bruni Tedeschi.

The supermodel-turned-musician wedded French President Nicolas Sarkozy in February this year.
