Project Explores Islam Through Virtual Worlds

Dancing Ink Productions has been working to promote understanding of Islamic culture through "a cross-section of internet and media platforms at universities around the world" -- specifically virtual worlds.

The goal of their latest project, dubbed "Understanding Islam Through Virtual Worlds," is to shed light on Islam, a group the firm sees as one of "the most misunderstood communities in the world."

According to the firm:

The project will culminate in a series of activities in virtual worlds tailored to bring together Muslims and non-Muslims. It will also produce a range of audio, video, and transcript products, along with a policy recommendation paper which will include a list of specific recommendations for the U.S. government on how to use virtual worlds to promote international understanding.
