Fluidforms transforms customers into sculptors at the Salone Satellite in Milan.
The Fluidforms team transformed visitors into sculptors at the 2006 Salone Satellite. Visitors to the Fluidforms stand at the world leading design show were given a pair of boxing gloves and let loose on a punching bag. Sensors inside the bag transmitted the punches to a computer, creating a one of a kind 3D printed lamp shape according to the positions and impact of the blows.
To assist in the creation of the sculptor’s personal vision, the continually transforming object was projected onto a wall. The sculptors continued to shape their creations until they were happy with the result, or they ran out of fight.
The designers Stephen Williams and Hannes Walter set up Fluidforms in Austria in 2005. Since then it has gained a reputation for fusing design, technology and mathematics to create artistic, individualised household objects....
