Looks like I teased this month's top seller when I included a photo of then newly-released Powerful Pro Baseball Portable 3 for the PSP last week, since this week it tops Media Create's weekly sales chart.
It was a big week for sales, with Powerful Pro moving 117,000 units (last week's top selling game sold less than 60,000), and another big new release at #2 with Bandai Namco's tactical RPG Endless Frontier: Super Robot Wars OG Saga, with sales of 98,000.
Plenty of other new chart entries in the top 10 this week: Bandai
Namco's party game Family Trainer for the Wii (#6), visual novel D.C. II: Da Capo
II: Plus Situation for the PS2 (#7), Marvelous Entertainment's RPG Valhalla
Knights 2 for the PSP (#8), Gust's RPG Mana Khemia 2: The Fallen School and the Alchemists for the PS2 (#9), and Benesse's Empty Space Training for the DS (#10).
So how's that for a bizarro top 10, with only two DS entries and two Wii entries, with the rest on the PSP or PS2. The only returning titles are
Mario Kart Wii (#2), Wii Fit (#4), and what I believe is Monster Hunter
Portable 2nd G's lowest rank yet (#5).
The rest of the top 30 also includes plenty of new entries, seven in fact. Last week's #1, Sega's Let's Make a Pro Baseball Team!
falls way, way down to #20. I'll say this though, I checked a few game shops last week and couldn't find a copy anywhere, so it could be a case of store's underestimating the success of the title and simply under-ordering. We'll have to wait until next week to see if this theory holds up.
Below, Media Create's full top 30. The list shows this week's rank, followed by last week's position, with the sales figures showing this week's numbers, followed by total sales.
