Summer's here, and one of the essential accompaniments to the barbecue is music. Not tinny, passive iPod add-ons, either, but a proper, neighbor-baiting sound system. Klipsch caters to our outdoor musical needs with its new Rock Speaker, and takes the unusual step of disguising it as an actual rock.
While a weatherproof speaker is a great idea, these monoliths verge on the tacky; they'd fit right in next to a pair of stone tigers, say, for a true Siegfried and Roy experience (only, we'd hope, a little safer). Specs wise, the only thing that really matters outdoors is that they are loud enough. The two-way AWR-650-SM puts out 50 watts continuous power with a 200 watt peak, which is more than enough for your average grill-out. $300 for the pair.
