"I Am Murloc," a song inspired by World of Warcraft, will be released as free downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Guitar Hero 3 on June 26.
The tune, which Activision describes as a "tongue-in-cheek tribute to the beloved race of fish-people" was created by Blizzard’s own WoW-themed band Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftan.
I can’t quite figure out if this is a hilariously ironic example of cross-branding synergy or if someone at Activision headquarters just really loves thrash rock, but either way you can expect to see legions of hateful internet denizens pointing to this development as evidence of the end of the world.
