The cost-free downloads keep on keeping on. This time, psychedelic pop vet Mercury Rev is on board for the giveaway with Strange Attractor, an all-instrumental companion album to their proper release Snowflake Midnight.
Both releases are due on September 30
from Yep Roc, who Mercury Rev signed with after closing out a three-album stint with V2, who, in turn, released their most critically acclaimed (and accessible) efforts Deserter's Songs, All is Dream and The Secret Migration. The free download of Strange Attractor will be offered from Mercury Rev and Yep Roc's official sites. Speaking of, according to Rev's airy prose, the double-barreled release is a fractal good time:
