No Bond game has ever replicated the success of the Nintendo 64's GoldenEye, so it comes as a relief to hear that the upcoming Quantum of Solace movie tie-in is heavily influenced by that seminal classic.
"We're very influenced by GoldenEye," said design director Jeremy Luyties in a recent interview with Joystiq.
"When you bring up the map, you'll see your hand come up, almost like the watch in GoldenEye. There are a lot of little hidden things like that in the game."
"They're like little messages from us as a developer, saying 'Thank you guys for creating such a great game. Here's our respectful take on that experience.' What a huge opportunity," Luyties added.
The game, which was built on a heavily-modified version of the Call of Duty 4 engine, is set to hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC platforms on November 7.
