If all of the political squabbling leading up to the presidential election has you feeling fatigued, slap on a pair of headphones and listen to The Sight Below’s free digital EP, No Place For Us (August 26, Ghostly International). Those cable news talking heads should fade away from your consciousness within minutes. In fact, you won’t hear a single human voice in any of these songs — the perfect antidote to the sound of our nation’s spin doctors yammering away in contrary directions.
These expansive instrumental epics start out icy, but melt easily enough with proper application of the human ear. As always, your mileage may vary. To me, this is just the thing for capping off a highly politicized couple of weeks.
