Famitsu reports this morning that Dragon Quest IX has a release date: March 2009.
Now, in general, Dragon Quest Japanese release dates often turn out to be lies, but this one has had enough catastrophic delays that perhaps they're serious. Note of course that it comes right at the tail end of the fiscal year, so they're pushing it back as far as they possibly can while still keeping it in this year's accounting records.
Note also that the Final Fantasy XIII demo bundled with Advent Children Complete is slated to arrive in Japan in the same month. If both these projects hit their targets, it'll be a happy time for Square Enix fans.
The ones in Japan, I mean. Not you.
