Are you excited for the Wii’s upcoming Punch-Out! game? This video will only make your anticipation worse.
Clocking in at a sparse 39 seconds, the clip doesn’t offer a ton of info on the game, but it solidifies two major points: the game’s cel-shaded aesthetic easily captures the cartoony spirit of its forebears, and Nintendo has no qualms with repeating itself ad nauseam.
There’s nothing wrong with giving fans what they want, but if the entire game follows the example of this trailer — and I have a feeling it will — Punch-Out! Wii is going to essentially be Super Punch-Out! with gimmicky motion controls.
Nintendo: Prove me wrong.
