Electronic Arts' Skate was a breath of fresh air at a time when the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series was quickly becoming stale. Come January we'll see if it was more than a mere fluke.
Skate 2 comes to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 21, 2009. Though no official retail price point is mentioned in EA's announcement, presumably it will follow the standard $60 pricing scheme.
Those who pre-order the game will be granted a code to unlock the Throwback Pack, a downloadable content pack that includes "a variety of retro stylings including, tie-dye t-shirts, Skate or Die apparel, Robot and ‘Window Shade’ sunglasses, gestures circa the hippie-age and much more."
