European futurists balk at universal doom and gloom

(((Probably because anybody could forecast that today's chicken-with-its-head-off bubble-panic can't last forever. One of these days you're gonna have to wake up sore headed and sober, so why not try that right now while that attitude is still ahead of the curve?)))

On 28-29 October 2008 the fourth edition of The European Futurist Conference Lucerne gathered futurists, analysts and decision-makers under the same roof to discuss the future. The event took place at the Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne designed by Jean Nouvel. 20 speakers from the some of the world’s most authoritative institutes and organizations in the fields of science, future studies and economy delivered their visions on energy, water, war and innovation in the decades to come.

It appears evident that we are on the brink of a mass transformation, which will vary considerably depending on geographical positioning, both within Europe itself and all over the world. But, contrary to what we are lead to believe, it isn’t all doom and gloom. (((Not all, you know, just like... lots. Kind of like Doom Lite and Semi-Gloom.)))
